검소하게 살렴 

삶을 선물로 여기면서

조금 떨어져서 자신을 보렴

아무것도 바라지 마렴

동정을 바라지는 말고  

누가 너를 동정한다면 

기꺼이 필요한 만큼만 받으렴

뭔가 받고 싶을 때 참아보렴

받고 싶은 충동에서 멀어져보렴  

 

너의 작은 심장보다 

더 큰 걸 바라지 마렴

별보다 더 큰 것도 바라지 마렴

큰 실망들을 친절히 다스리렴

무심한 듯 차갑게 

실망을 네 영혼을 위한 

외투라 여기렴  

 

사는 이유를 발견하렴

어떻게 엄청 작은 거인이 존재하는지 

바보처럼 너무 무서워 말고 

아무것도 바라지 마렴

검소하게 살렴
